# Connect ChatGPT

Add BLU to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server plugin, sign in on BLU's page, and pick BLU in any chat with @ to ask about your agency.

You need a BLU API key without an IP restriction — see [Get a key](https://docs.blu.luxe/mcp/#get-a-key).

> **Note:** **Which plans?** On **ChatGPT Business**, only workspace owners and admins can create and publish a custom MCP plugin — ask yours to add BLU. On **Enterprise** and **Edu**, you need the permission **Create plugins with MCPs**, which an admin grants. On **Pro**, you can connect a custom MCP server for reading, which is all BLU does. If you don't see **Add custom MCP server**, your plan or workspace doesn't offer it yet.

## Add BLU

1. **Open plugins**

Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.

2. **Name it**

Enter the name **BLU** and a short description, such as "Read-only access to my agency's data in BLU".

3. **Point it at BLU**

*Picture: An illustration of ChatGPT's Add custom MCP server form with the name BLU, the server URL https://mcp.blu.luxe/mcp, OAuth chosen and the risk warning confirmed.* — Adding BLU as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT. Illustration — your screen may look slightly different.

Under **Connection**, set the **Server URL**:

   Server URL: `https://mcp.blu.luxe/mcp`

   Under **Authentication**, choose **OAuth**.

4. **Create it**

Tick **I understand and want to continue**, then click **Create as a plugin**.

5. **Sign in on BLU's page**

ChatGPT opens BLU's sign-in page — straight away, so it can read BLU's tools, or the first time it uses BLU. Paste your BLU API key, click **Continue**, check what ChatGPT will be able to read and click **Allow**.

6. **Review the tools and install**

ChatGPT lists BLU's tools — every one of them only reads. Install the plugin.

## Use BLU in a chat

Start a new chat, type **@** and pick **BLU**, then ask your question — for example *"Which creators disconnected in the last 7 days?"*. More ideas are on [Example prompts](https://docs.blu.luxe/mcp/example-prompts/).

## Keep the tools up to date

When BLU adds a tool, open the plugin's page in ChatGPT and click **Refresh** so ChatGPT reads the new list.

## Disconnect

To turn off ChatGPT's access to BLU — so it stops reading your BLU data — remove the BLU plugin in ChatGPT. Revoking or rotating the key in BLU disconnects every app that uses it.
